From research roots to digital transformation, SEMIP has grown into a practical ecosystem for resilient, circular resource flows.
Academic Vision & Research
SEMIP began as a collaborative research initiative between ENS, UT, and ZAG, reframing buildings as dynamic material banks and shaping the foundation for circular construction.
Development & Digitalization
We transformed the framework into a practical multi-stakeholder platform by integrating GIS mapping, distance calculators, and lifecycle assessment workflows.
Scaling & Future Impact
SEMIP is expanding toward secondary material marketplaces and carbon footprint tracking, driving a resilient, data-informed, and zero-waste future for the built environment.

Born in the Heart of Europe, Expanding Worldwide
SEMIP's journey began with a strategic alliance under the CABE project with 19 partners from 10 different countries, funded by DUT. By combining regional expertise in construction and sustainability, we established our first material bank networks in these countries.
Today, our roots are firmly planted in these regions, but our vision knows no borders. We are committed to scaling our digital platform globally, transforming the construction industry into a borderless circular economy. Our goal is to bring smart material passporting and zero-waste strategies to every corner of the globe by 2030.
